Privacy policy

CoFoungle is a small product run by CoFoungle ("we"). This page explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it, in plain English.
What we collect
- Account data — your name, email and profile photo from Google or LinkedIn when you sign in, or your email if you use a magic link.
- Profile — what you tell us: headline, role, stage, industry, location, what you're building, what you're looking for, and a private note on why you joined.
- Contact details — your email, LinkedIn URL and anything else you add. These are private: only shown to people you mutually matched with after a call.
- Calls — who you were matched with, when, and for how long. We do not record, store or transcribe the audio or video of your calls. Video is carried peer-to-peer or via our video provider (LiveKit) in real time and is not retained.
- Feedback — whether you wanted to keep in touch, your 1–5 rating, and any report you file. The other person never sees your answer unless it's a mutual yes.
- Technical — standard server logs and privacy-friendly, cookie-less analytics (Vercel Analytics) for page views. No ad trackers.
What we use it for
- Matching you with other founders and running the call.
- Showing your profile to the person you're talking to during a call.
- Revealing contact details only when both of you say yes.
- Keeping the platform safe — acting on reports, banning abusive accounts.
- Emailing you about things you did here (e.g. a mutual match), and, if you opted in, about live sessions.
- Understanding what works (aggregate stats like calls per day).
What we don't do
- Sell or rent your data.
- Show your contact details to anyone you haven't mutually matched with.
- Record your calls.
- Run advertising or third-party ad tracking.
Who sees your profile
Signed-in, approved members can see your public profile (name, photo, headline, role, stage, industry, location, what you're building and looking for). Your "why I'm here" note, email, LinkedIn and other contacts are private. Admins can see everything, including reports, to moderate the platform.
Processors we rely on
- Supabase — database and authentication (hosted in the region shown in our project settings).
- LiveKit Cloud — real-time video transport. No media is stored.
- Vercel — hosting and privacy-friendly analytics.
- Google / LinkedIn — sign-in, only if you choose them.
- Resend — transactional email, if configured.
Cookies
We only use strictly necessary cookies: your session, and a 30-day referral cookie if you arrived via an invite link. No consent banner is needed because we don't use tracking cookies.
Retention
We keep your data while your account exists. Delete your account from the Account page and everything tied to you — profile, contacts, calls, feedback, matches — is deleted immediately. People you matched with lose your contact details.
Your rights
You can view and edit your profile any time, export your data on request, and delete your account yourself. If you're in the EU/UK you have GDPR rights (access, rectification, erasure, portability, objection). Email hello@cofoungle.com and we'll sort it out.
Changes
If we change this policy in a meaningful way we'll show a notice in the lobby.
